Spaghetti

We tried a new sauce tonight that was delicious. Who knew they could shove five different cheeses into the jar with all those tomatoes and spices too?

It was very delicious.

Hot Stuff

Here’s a photo of the shrimp we cooked the other night. A few of them got a little too close to the flame but they were were tasty.

The Fruit Bowl

When you cook out and your youngest asks if he can make a fruit bowl, this is what you get.

They Should Call It Nasty Slaw

We made some burgers, hot dogs, and shrimp on the grill tonight. I’ll have pictures tomorrow. Tonight I just wanted to say, this stuff is nasty!

I don’t know if we just got a bad batch or what, but this stuff was not very tasty at all. And why would it matter if the container is microwavable? Who microwaves slaw anyway?

Biscotti

Our kids love biscotti. I figured I would look for a recipe and try it here in a few days.

It’s hard to understand what she is saying at times, but it looks like a good recipe to me.

Gnocchi, Gnocchi, You Can’t Come In

I know, I know, for three days I said I would post photos. I have been extremely busy, in fact, beyond busy. The good news is, everything was resolved tonight and I wont be as busy over the weekend. I hope.

Gnocchi is one of our favorite dishes to make around here, so check out Chef John’s post on One Potato Gnocchi. This way you get photos and a video from one of the best chef’s on the Interwebs.

Photoless Egg Muffins

Yeah, I know, I promised you a few photos today. Guess what, stuff happens.

Tonight we had the homemade equivalent of McDonald’s Egg McMuffins, although ours were not cooked in perfect circles and they didn’t have tough canadian bacon on them and the muffins were not stale.

I fried the eggs in butter, I toasted the fresh English muffins, and heated the Canadian Bacon. A nice fresh slice of cheese on top and everyone devoured their dinner tonight.

Photoless Tacos

I was extremely busy today keeping an eye on the server, so when it came time for dinner, we made Tacos.

Everyone loves tacos. No photos though, they were camera shy tacos. More photographic savory goodness sometime tomorrow. Yeah, that’s it.

Photoless Chicken Wings

No photos tonight. We made chicken wings, but they didn’t stick around long enough to get photographed.

I started with 3 pounds of wings, which I baked in a 425 degree oven for 1 hour. As they finished cooking, I took 1/2 cup of Frank’ Red Hot and mixed it with 1/2 cup of melted butter in a large steel bowl. We always use real butter, not that fake crap they tell you is better for you.

When the wings were done we tossed them in the sauce and devoured them. I have never seen kids jump on a pile of wings like that in my life, I just wish we had made more of them so my belly wouldn’t be growling wanting more as I typed this post.

Country Style Pork Ribs

Last year my wife made a ton of homemade ketchup. She made two batches of it. The first batch tastes like regular ketchup, the second batch has a nice smoky flavor to it.

Last night, she took a pint of that smokey ketchup and turned it into the most delicious barbeque sauce I have ever had. Then she used it to make some delicious country style pork ribs.
